First Week of Research Progress

My first week of research started out with some confusion. As I’m pretty sure anyone reading this will know, Monday, the 27th, was Memorial Day. Despite my knowledge of this, I still intended on meeting with my research professor on this date because she specifically stated it while we were emailing over the break. So, after preparing to meet with my instructor at 10 am and going to her office and another place I thought I might find her, I sent her an email only to find out that she decided to take the federal holiday off. In her response email she apologized and recommended that I do the same and, although, I did, I also decided to start on my portion of the research.

Kuala Lumpur Week 1: Adapting to a New Environment

I have been in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia for six days now, and it has been absolutely amazing and quite challenging at times. I arrived at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport around Sunday, May 19th at 8:20 a.m. with Divya Dureja and Gypsy McMillian. We arrived at our Airbnb an hour and a half later via Grab, and we wasted no time exploring our areas. Our Airbnb is quite central to a lot of touristy activities such as plazas, Petronas Towers, Batu Caves, Thean Hou Temple and so much more. We took the LRT train to Suria Mall Putrajaya in Wilayah Persekutuan Putrajaya. We saw the iconic Petronas Towers as well as the Menara Kuala Lumpur Tower. I have to say the sight was truly amazing, and I plan to go back in the next few weeks so that I can do what every tourist here does: take a picture at the top of the towers.
